    GS 1100 mirror disassembly?

Anyone ever taken one of these mirrors apart with the screw in the back? I'd like to swap the glass out without damaging the housing parts. It appears the housing is assembled and then the glass glued in sealing it up. I was wondering if a heat gun would break the glue bond and get the glass out? It is a Tanaka mirror.

    thanks, Pat

Ya, you can't take those apart. The screw does make a slight adjustment to the mirror by tightening it up if it become loose but you can only turn the screw a 1/4-1/2 turn at most before either the mirror cracks or the screw falls out of it's nut and then the whole mirror is loose and unusable.
