Just by chance I was going to contact Corbin Seats. I have one for another bike, and they make there own bases. Was going to see,by chance if they might have a base or just sell me the base only.Long shot but may be worth the call.In the mean time I will keep scouring e-bay

you stated "You nearly have it, suzukizone.-just copy image links and then paste them into "Insert Image" (from URL)"
it's in the QuickReply tool bar.let your mouse hover on the buttons and you may see the text..I do on Firefox browser anyways

choose url for your online catalogue of personal pix or even from other places, you may right click and "copy image url"(firefox) to paste in.of course, sometimes, you can even clickndrag copy and paste directly from one page to another!!

Thanks Gorminrider. Think I see it. Don't have anything to post now but hopefully I'll remember next time.

Probably going to cheap out on the seat deal at the moment as I've been spending too much from limited SOC SEC income on the bike. Need to ride now that forks seals done. Ready for a 1-2 nite camping trip into the higher elevations. Will keep investigating the seat. Wish I could just get a cover to go over the existing foam which is in OK (for me) condition. Saddlemen said I could send them the seat & they would try to fit something. Bet that would cost more than just replacing the whole top.

        Be safe, Thanks to all.

Seat bases were aftermarket-made by several companies at the time. Of course, demand has dropped way off now, but you might find one somewhere, unless I find it first.
One of mine has a glassfibre seat pan I fitted 20+ years ago - was quite cheap at the time, too.

Well, lookee here, and what have I found? Nothing more or less than a replica steel seat pan.
Only 169 of your American dollars, too.

Now, it strikes me that if there's enough of a market to knock these out, somebody somewhere is probably still making (or will start making) fibreglass pans. Given that my fibreglass pan is knocking on 25 years old and is as good as new, I'd rather have another one of those, instead of a metal one.
