Fuel tank swap

I have a 1978 Suzuki gs750 and I'm considering swapping out the gas tank for another due to the rust. What other years are compatable and does it matter what CC bike the tank is from?

If you're looking for a quick replacement, with no mods, then the only gas tanks which will bolt onto the '78 GS750 come from the 77-79 GS750 or the 79-81 GS850G.
