Headlight bracket question

Does anybody know if the headlight brackets from an 81 850gl fit an 83 1100gl?

It should since the upper tube of each fork are the same diameter and the trees are the same width. I've got the triple tree and forks off an 850g on my 1100gl and the headlight bracket work.

Thanks Raygun, I used to have a very clean '82 850l but sold it 20 years ago. I've replaced it with an '83 1100l but not so clean. The brackets look identical but when I looked up part numbers they were different. I found a new set of NOS 1981 gs850gl's for a steep price ( which I'll pay ) but I want to know they'll fit before I order them. I may just roll the dice on them.

Well the brackets arrived today and my question is answered. The triple tree area is the same on the 81 to the 83 and they will fit but the ears are longer on the 83. They are OEM new though and it was too good to be true. I'll be putting them on the parts for sale thread. They would have looked nice.
