Will 82 gl front fender fit my 79 l? Both 1000s

A guy backed into my bike this morning and trashed my front fender. Boy am I lucky that's all that happened. Anyone know if an 81 gl fender will fit my 79 l? It's an 81 not 82

I called a parts house and cross checked numbers. They are the same, in case anyone else is wondering.

I was going to say "it probably will", as long as it's an "L" fender.
