SPRING, HELMET HOLDER for GS550E 1980 (Same for many other bikes)

I want one of these helmet holders which were standard on these bikes. , they dont sell them anywhere.

    Item no 31

    Suzuki part number Product Number
    : 9572245000

I have found one on ebay but it is in the USA and the chap wants £30 to send it me. He wont budge on this price so i wont buy from him.
    Cant find any others.

To complete our beloved GS's we need these ! handy for when out and about and wanna clip
the helmet to the bike whilst in the pub....

Can we make them ? Has anyone done so ?

I've been keeping an eye out for a while, with no luck. I've never actually seen one - is there a GSer somewhere who could post a photo?

Jules, if you come across anywhere that has two available, I'll split postage with you if it helps.

I have photos of them. Will post , I'm away till weekend.
I was thinking of making one ?
If I manage it I'll inform.

There is this chap in usa who has one but wants £30 to send it.
Crazy ! If he said 15-20 I might have done it.
It's totally unnecessary but as he is incapable of reason I won't deal with him.

I so wish there was a place where could buy ?

Well, that's a deal-clincher! But it was Jules who was asking first, so I'd better defer. And he comes from cider country.........Just saying.

Is it sprung steel, or just standard mild?

I may have one from the bike I broke... I can check. I'll be in Cromer over Christmas so could throw it in my case. To be honest I don't see it being a big deal to make one.... Personally I would rather carry a steel cable & padlock / Bike lock & run it through the chin of the helmet, rarely use my one of these.

It is just a piece of spring steel, 13mm wide by 0.5mm thick, you could easily make one from an old feeler blade......
UKJules, PM me your address and i will pop it in the post for you.

                            Thanks for info.
I have messaged agemax . I so want one to make my bike almost complete.
So handy when out on an expedition and wanna put helmet on bike quickly
                            for a walkabout.

If a deal can be done I'll measure exactly and try and manufacture them.
I could start by 3d printing one and taking to fabricators.

I will try and solve this !
Who do you think could make them ?
