I'm getting the impression that this 1150 is a model that is highly desirable. As someone who knew little about the GS model line until I got Miss Bugly, this is exciting news. Of course I still cannot decide on a color scheme. I looked at the colors for the RG500 Gamma and some of those are quite nice too. Oh the choices!

Cearly im biased, but....... I love this. Note the mid panel. It's the less vibrant 1984 blue. The black stripe is supposed to run up to the headlight. Riding on a trip in really heavy rain took it off. The clear over the stripe often goes bad as some of mine is.

When consulting the magic 8 ball for advice, one must first ask it "will your answers be accurate?"

I think the 1150es is part desirable part scarce. Ive never seen, or looked for production numbers, but the magazines at the time didnt love it, which may have led to slow sales. Plus the ones that ended up as drag bikes. Just therorizing.

By far my favourite colour scheme. Europe and Japan only though.

This was a red one I sold several years ago to a friend. It was faded so he painted it silver over the existing paint left the white. Picture is not very good It looks great. This was Andi's bike from 10 years ago or more on GSR.

I don't know how collectible the EF/ES will ever be, and having stripped mine down to E style, I don't miss the fairing, but they do look cool when in good fettle.

I agree with this statement. The 1150, particularly the ES, almost seems like a placeholder between the iconic 1100e and the legendary GSXR range. Probably one of the reasons why I like it so much, among others. That blue / white one Mark1 posted looks awesome.

I like the full fairing models, so send me yours since you don't like it. I have just the upper with headlight and I'm still looking for the rest of the bike. Lowers would be a good step closer, I know it's out there somewhere. I had planed on mounting it on a '80-81 model 1100 since I don't care much for the rectangle headlights they came with. The 82-83 1100 and 1150s are what attracted me to the GS line up back in the day, when all I could do was drool on them in the show rooms.

As stated earlier most of the 1150s over here either ended up as drag bikes or the motors found their way into 1100 Katanas. Not many EFs on the road here anymore.

At the time they were being sold, there were some unfavourable reviews on them - I recall an Oz bike magazine saying with the power, the 16" front and the flimsy chassis they were "downright dangerous". Hence there were not that many sold over here to start with (relatively speaking).
                        Current:
Z1300A5 Locomotive (swapped my Intruder for it), GS450 Cafe Project (might never finish it....), XT500 Commuter (I know - it's a Yamaha )

                        Past:
                        VL1500 Intruder (swapped for Z1300), ZX9R Streetfighter (lets face it - too fast....), 1984 GSX750EF, 1984 GSX1100EF (AKA GS1150)
And a bunch of other crap Yamahas....

Could they be made to handle with out completely changing the look and soul of the bike. Although personally if i ever get lucky enough to own one the only mods i could bring my self to do would probably be a set of chicane rims. Not much into drag bikes (although with all the straight roads in fl i should be) so id leave the wheel base
