Grips

I've ordered 3 different sets of grips and all seem short on throttle side they measure 145cm which I've got this time there 145cm to tip.Still they measure up the same as old ones,could I cut a small bit of the throttle twist grip on bike to make them fit??,also how do I remove the throttle 1 that's stuck was going to use dremmel to cut it off any help would be great.Here is 2 pictures of problem.Conan
