    Saddlebags for 1983 GS1100ES?

I have found one pick of what appears to be come custom bags. Obviously those would be great but I am just looking for something that would fit, perform well, look good, and be priced reasonably. I am not really sure what will fit on this bike. Anyone have any suggestions of your favorite bags? I would prefer hard bags to lock jacket etc in but would consider soft bags as well.

    Thanks!

GSR member Mr Samsonite had a very respectable looking ES with hard bags.

Make sure you get some stiff rear shocks when running heavy bags. Extra weight on the back, especially high can cause a very uncomfortable wallowing in sweeping corners. This is with a stock suspension (tall sidewalls on teh rear tires). Radials on 18 or 17" wheel will not do this.

For after market bags look at Shadonline.com

The Shad 3p system offers a few different size bags and here are many options for brackets to modify to your bike.

The SH23 and the SH36 are 3P mountable - the SH23 (23L of storage) with the mounts is about $350

Thats what I have ordered for my GS850

Those bags are fitted from a GK very nicely done. I have seen this bike in person

I never had bags on my ES sorry. I'll take the respectable looking comment though
