This is what the polished parts look like. I think I could have gone a little further, but.... They are about 10,000 times better than where they were. I'm not mad at how they turned out so far.

Wow, some cracking examples here guys.
I'm just in the process of completing a top end rebuild and while I had it apart I started thinking about painting but I needed to keep the costs down. So just cleaned up best I could. Probably not worth of being in this thread though...
I knew once I'd started I'd want to do it properly, vapor blast etc, and then couldn't do the engine and ignore the frame and so on. So back together now, I'll ride as much as I can his year and maybe pull it apart next winter and do a full restoration.Comment

Smart man. My rebuild started as replacing a leaking head gasket. Down the rabbit hole of "while I'm in there..." and 3 years later, I'm zinc plating hose clamps and polishing clutch cable ends. Ok, I'm exaggerating, but the point is that the bike is down and I've been wrenching instead of riding since 2015...Comment
