OEM mirrors.
So I'm after lower profile mirrors but there is better things to spend that money on (brake rubber replacement). I was thinking about maybe bending the stalks closer to the bars. I hesitate to do that to decent original parts with out knowing for sure. Has anybody tried it and if so some pictures would be great.Tags: None -
I'd hesitate to so do. The broken ones I have seen look like cast parts and might not take kindly to the sort of manipulation you'd have to put them through to get a decent view behind you.'83 GS650G

Not so sure about being "cast", the mirrors have seen were on tubular supports. Try bending it, the tube kinks.

I don?t think my mirrors are stock, so I?ll be looking for convex ones like you suggest.
Here?s my bike. I think the OEM mirrors are supposed to be round, and chrome.

I have not used that exact style but I used similar extenders. For me personally having mirrors up high and wide allowed me to scan either side of my rear and maintain a high persistence on front and center without moving my head or having to crouch down to look behind. Far more comfortable to ride as I could scan 360 degrees in less than 5 seconds and not move my head.
This gives an idea of the setup. Long stemmed Napoleaons(convex and rectangular) with extenders.

Those look identical to the mirrors on my 1100E and they are stock as far as I know.I don?t think my mirrors are stock, so I?ll be looking for convex ones like you suggest.
