Volcano corrosion
I am experiencing some weird corrosion unlike any I have seen before. This is on a new luggage rack. When it arrived, I noticed a pinhole in the chrome with a little corrosion. I wiped it off and put it on the bike. I don't care that it's not perfect, it was cheap. After just a few hours, a little mountainous volcano of corrosion will form. Wipe it off, and a few hours later it's back. Anyone seen this before? Is there something I can do to make it stop?

I welded up a rack with some tubing I had and had it chromed. It did the same kind of thing through litle pin holes at a few of my welds.sigpic
