    '82, '83 mirrors

    image.jpg

This left mirror broke off my '82 11E today. My 1982 Cycle World issue shows distinctly more rectangular mirrors.

First question: can anybody identify this mirror? Stock '83 would be good news. I'll start digging into the parts fiches next.
1982 GS1100E V&H "SS" exhaust, APE pods, 1150 oil cooler, 140 speedo, 99.3 rear wheel HP, black engine, '83 red

2016 XL883L sigpic Two-tone blue and white. Almost 42 hp! Status: destroyed, now owned by the insurance company. The hole in my memory starts an hour before the accident and ends 24 hours after.

Partzilla fiche shows '82 and '83 mirrors that look nothing like mine. $55 each, plus shipping.

Pretty sure both the 82 and 83 had the rectangular mirrors that don't match your picture.....

Yeah, '82 and '83 mirrors have identical parts numbers. I'm guessing they're plastic, hoping they're black. Stalks seem much shorter, whole unit looks different than what I've come to know, I'll just have to keep telling myself these are the real stock, the way they originally came.

And I'll install them myself - no mechanic necessary!
