New side covers 82 GS1100E
I have been dealing with side covers with crippled mounting posts in one way or another for the past 20 years. I have been thinking about just buying a set of new covers. Are these available, and if so who has the best price.Tags: None -
I don't believe they are available new. Over the past 7 years I've bought or sold about a dozen; I've settled down with two matching pairs.
If you keep searching, you may encounter a pair with the original posts. The chance that they'll be in your color with the proper decals is not so great.1982 GS1100E V&H "SS" exhaust, APE pods, 1150 oil cooler, 140 speedo, 99.3 rear wheel HP, black engine, '83 red

I have it all apart right now about to paint it. That means I probably wont find any until I am finished painting, LOL. I have thought about machining some aluminum posts and tig welding them to some sheet aluminum that matches the contour of the inside of the cover. That would give a large surface area for epoxy to hold the base plates on that have the posts welded to them. Still new covers would be great.Comment

They are showing the Right side new on Suzukipartsmonster &, I think, Partzilla, looks like $85 & $94. Normally if not available there will be no price shown. Left side seems to be unavialable.Last edited by rphillips; 02-12-2021, 05:37 PM.1983 GS1100E, 1983 CB1100F, 1991 GSX1100G, 1996 Kaw. ZL600 Eliminator, 1999 Bandit 1200S, 2005 Bandit 1200S, 2000 Kaw.
