GS front fender interchangeability for 1981 GS650E forks?

I have a 1976 Suzuki GT750 Water Buffalo that I am upgrading the front suspension and brakes on. I have purchased a used set of 1981 GS650E forks which are the same OD and hopefully close to the same length. I am in search of GS enlightenment as to what other GS model front fenders will bolt on and want a chrome front fender. I prefer not to use the factory front fender for the GS650E. What say you as to those with this valued GS fender interchange knowledge? Thanks in advance!

I think you can use any of the 1000, 850, 750, or 1100 Fenders on a 650 front end.

The only one I think you can't use is the 1100GK fender.

I went with a GS850 front fender for the GS650 forks I have. The 850 fender was painted red but dent free. Should be getting it back in about 2 weeks from the rechroming. Haven?t done much with the forks yet other than working on stripping the black paint off the lowers. I also read that Kawasaki H2 progressive springs are a drop in and I have a set in storage since I have Race Tech linear springs on the H2 now. We?ll see?.

Did you replace the entire fork assembly (including the triples) or just the tubes?

If you replaced just the tubes, it would be good to check the spacing on the GT triples to make sure the fender will match.
If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space.

Have not done the conversion yet but will replace just the tubes as the GS650 and GT750 fork size is the same. Plan to use the stock original GT750 triple trees. I do have a concern with the GS850G front fender fitment and might have to use some spacers possibly. The GS850 forks are larger by 2mm. If it doesn?t work out with the 850 chrome fender, I?ll offer it up for cost of used fender plus cost of rechroming and shipping costs. Both the GT750 and GS650/ 850 use a 19? front wheel.

The GS850 front fender works but was a tight fit. Looks good rechromed.
