    What exhausts fit a 1983 GS450T?

Anyone know if earlier or other exhaust willfit the bike? I bought one with rotted out mufflers.

    Thanks

Here's what I'd do. Go to a genuine Suzuki parts website such as Babbitt's and cross check part numbers between different 450 models, if any of them are the same you're going to get a match. Seems to me that you could get a brand spanking new set on eBay for about $350 but it's been a few years since I last looked.

Lots of after-market fit. and OEM from various bikes. The aftermarket ones usually come with a bunch of shims that mostly tighten up the seal. (avoid using too many of these stacked if you can... generally leakier and difficult) Just get the inner diameter of the muffler close to the outer diameter of the pipe....you would probably want trumpet types that have a slight bend to tilt upwards..but commonly, you will find that your axle can't be removed with the muffler in place with the tilt.... you might even look for a pipe adapter with a tilt to give a perky look and save you removing shocks to get your rear wheel off...

You can also use Harley Mufflers for better chrome and material (and an interesting sound signature on a 450!) versus after-market tinny-sounding cheapies... Apparently, the first thing a new Harley does is change the mufflers- I've bought em for between $20-40 CAN or i don't bother.......and, avoid the ones that have catalytic converters in them... Finally, these harley mufflers will mostly need a pipe adapter on the 450'si pipe to size it up to suit the Harley's larger inner size and, they are HEAVY .

Gorminrider.... On the subject of the HD mufflers: What model did you use? sportster cans? I like this idea ALOT.

          Thanks
