    GS1000e Fuel Tap 4430047270

    Can you help
Have the above fuel tap on my GS1000 with the wider bolt spacing 5cm I think
It appears not to have a tap to move from prime to on position see photo
    Is this correct ??
Where can I get the tiny little tap that fits in ?
Or is there an alternative tap with 5cm bolt holes

OOhhh, the dreaded "80" model no lever tap. It's designed to be turned with a screwdriver & was aggravating. I hope someone can steer you to a good direct bolt-on replacement.

The hole spacing makes it difficult to find a replacement. Other GSs have 44mm hole spacing and there's a huge number of bikes with a 34mm spacing.
All is not lost. You can make up a spacer block (just a 6mm thick bit of steel bar) that will bolt into the existing tank holes, but has a centre hole to clear the new tap, along with one blind hole, and utilise a 44 or 34 tap.
Ok, having put that idea out there, you have to hope there's sufficient clearance for the petcock body next to the carbs.

The easiest path is to buy a new one and call it done.

Thanks for your replies. Looks like a small screwdriver will be added to the tool kit
The new replacement from Tour Max came without the tap and no tap is shown on the parts diagram either....what where Suzuki thinking!
