Pilot jet plug
Hi all. I have a 1981 GS1100E that has been sitting in bedroom for last 2 years. Going thru the carbs and the pilot jet plastic plugs just fall out. Are these critical to have in place? I know I replaced years and the same issue. THXTags: None -
Yes, they are critical. The float bowl holds them in place, so it's not critical for them to fit tightly.Ed
To measure is to know.

The plugs must remain in place and ideally be a snug fit.
The pilot jets take their feed via a cross drilling from the main jet.
If the plugs are left out the bike will run extremely rich.
The plugs are only to be removed to allow direct access to the pilot jets for cleaning etc and must be replaced afterwards.
