    Carburetor to engine pipes

I'm replacing the pipes from carburetor to engine on a 1982 GS 1100 GK. There are 2 identified as L for left and 2 for R right.Thats easy enough, 2 for left side and 2 for right side, however measuring the thickness at the mounting holes,, is a few mm difference sooo which is top of the pipe, I installed them with the L and R,,, on top. Is that correct?

Thanks rphillips, I thought I read that somewhere. Where can I find where it says R and L should be on top?
