    79 GS1000 Part Identification Help

IMG_4117.jpgI need to replace a part on my carburetor setup but the parts diagrams don't seem to call it out. It's the throttle cable pulley that sits between carbs 2 and 3. Anyone know a part number? Having a hard time finding a replacement right now. I've circled the part in the photos.

eBay is your best bet. They come up from time to time, and may be shared with other carb sets.

Also, you might want to message the mods to move this thread to the Parts Wanted forum.

From my experience you will need the Suzuki version as I've tried to fit my Suzuki VM26SS pulley to a Kawasaki set of VM 26's with no luck. Had to order the Kawasaki one however, this was years ago.

Nothing from the throttle rail of the Kawasaki VM26's will swap with the Suzuki version. I tried.

          Is yours broken?

          1998 Kawasaki Voyager - selling

I have one surplus to my needs. Having trouble uploading a picture of it, message me and I'll send you the pic. If it's what you need, it's yours.

unfocused Yeah, someone already pointed me in the Kawasaki direction but I realized from looking at the same part from a KZ900 on ebay that there are slight differences. I was re-assembling my carbs yesterday and snapped a bolt off in one of the linkage arms and this pulley I'm looking for. Drilled and tapped all the holes a size up to M6x1 size, but I decided that isn't ideal so I'm sourcing new parts. Already got a throttle shaft, bolts and linkage arms coming. Just need to find this pulley.

MCoyne72 thanks for the offer, but I believe that is the pulley from the Kawasaki VM26 carbs that unfocused and I are talking about. Real close to being the same but slight differences.

Nessism I've been camping out on eBay to find one. There are a couple on there but unfortunately they're part of full carb sets that are being sold for parts and I'd rather not buy a hole set of carbs just for this one part. I'm going to hold off a bit, but if the individual part doesn't come along in the next couple of weeks I'll probably buy a whole set and just have a lot of backup parts.

Of course 5 minutes after I reply to you all I find the part on eBay...couldn't find it before as someone was calling the part something I didn't think to search for before. Thanks.
