Had anyone tried to replace the fuel float bar & or sending unit with something other than OEM part? Like to hear what ever ideas might work TY

I finally removed my old one, compared the image of the original part from the web. Mine is missing the sensor wire that goes into the float level must have desintergrated over the years. I was hoping there may be compatible parts from other bikes. Or just see if I can find another & modify the float arm

I was able to see the get the gauge to respond finally. But for a permanent fix I am going to see if I can swap my the float level to another unit I can find & got it.
