    Plastic floats?

Where I live the temperature changes cause the brass floats to compress, changing my float height of course.
Question, can I use plastic floats from newer carbs in a carb body that originally came with brass floats?

Have you checked the fuel level, in the carbs, in both hot and cold weather? Just to be absolutely sure that's the problem?

The only GS that I'm aware of that had a brass float was the early twins. Those carbs are different from the later type that had a foam/plastic float.

If the float is caved in, try a heat gun to warm it. The air inside will expand and might pop out any dents.

When I had a 450 (brass floats) I mistakenly ordered some of the plastic floats from a four (can't quite remember which one - I think they're broadly similar if not identical across models) for a replacement. I can confirm they look like they fit, that they fit into the pin, that they'll swing... but they do not fit into the bowl. So no, I don't think you can.

I'd like to see some test results that indicates your problem

Having lived where the annual temperature fluctuates 130F, I've never noticed any issues
