    exhaust replacement/fuel line feed

I am just beginning a gs 1100 e 1982 rebuild and am learning. The bike did not have the gas tank on and the fuel lines were gone to the carbs. There seems to be 3 feeds to the carbs . One low to the bowls and 2 higher up between the outside carbs. Are the carbs all fed from these 3 inlets with a split feed line? Secondly the bike has a Vance and Hines 4 into 1 exhaust-The muffler may be salvageable but the pipes are toast. Where can a replacement system be found? THANKS

There is one fuel feed to the carbs. From the gas tank petcock, to the center fuel feed Tee in the middle of the carbs.

In addition, there is a vacuum line from the carbs to the petcock. Once the engine is cranking, vacuum is generated, and this vacuum opens fuel flow from the petcock/tank, to feed the carbs.

The carbs also have two vent lines; attached to plastic Tee's between 1-2 and 3-4 carbs. These vent lines need to be left open, commonly with the hose laying in and about on top of the airbox.

You might want to review the carb rebuild tutorial linked in my signataure. Also, clean the carbs properly, and replace all the o-rings. Again, see my signature.

In addition to Nessism’s great rebuild tutorial found on Bikecliff’s Website, there another article with lots of well labeled pics like below in the technical section on the homepage. https://gsarchive.bwringer.com/mtsac...d_Tutorial.pdf

there is another vent “T” between carbs 3 & 4

Screenshot 2026-01-22 131350.png Sorry for my (earlier) bad info. The plastic vent Tee's are between the two outer pair of carbs; 1-2 and 3-4.
