Uh, because I'm cleaning the carbs, and it needs cleaning too. I've been told that what I'm describing is the pilot jet. Whatever it is, it's stuck.

You want to rotate the drill counter clockwise at a slow speed.

Some people are just a**holes, I guess they have nothing better to do. Some members give sane responses at times and other times respond with totally off the wall responses like they forgot to take their medication. Trippivot, a member on this forum, is a perfect example of this. Read this thread

It starts out innocent enough and then all of a sudden the guy just seems to loose it.

FWIW and maybe somewhat back on subject I won't put a set of carbs back together till the pilot jet has been removed and I have clean carb cleaner coming out the intake bell the idle jet, passages and through the jet itself been burned enough to not want to have to do a set over. As mentioned it is small and crud from the intake can go straight to that jet.

Weird thing is, as I just posted in another thread called "not firing on all cylinders", the two cylinders that are firing are the two that I couldn't get the pilot jets out of. Go figure. But, your point is well taken and I should have gone ahead and tried to get them out, but I got lazy and gambled.

                      If I don't have my year/size mixed up, BS34s came on the 81 GS1000G.

Might be easier to just buy a set or find the carb bodies than jack with getting them out.

Right now, I'm not messing with them because the cylinders for those two carbs are firing ok. The next time I have to do a carb clean, I'll mess with them.
