    rubber boots

does anyone know where to get the rubber boots between the carb and head? also how many people are running pod filters instead of the airbox? is it worth the switch?

You can get them from your local dealer or a number of online parts stores like bikebandit.com

I use the K&N pods. They are an oiled filter. EMGO makes a dry filter that looks similar. I have a Kerker exhaust header. These are both on my GPz, BTW. It is worth it if you are willing to spend the time jetting the carbs, and you can stand the added noise of the intake and exhaust, both of which are much louder than stock.

I've got 2 new boots and o-rings for sale that will fit an '80 850. It will probably fit many other models. I can give you part numbers to cross reference if you would like.

What bike do you need them for?

            Hi,

Check your "mega-welcome" in your other thread for a vendor list and all kinds of fun facts about GS bikes.

Lots of members have tossed their air box and fitted 4-n-1 exhausts (not me). Then you have to buy a Stage 3 Dynojet kit and experiment with plug chops to get the jetting right. Well, you don't have to buy a Dynojet kit, but it makes jetting this setup a lot easier. Regardless, it's too much hassle for me, not enough return for all the $$$ and time investment. Stock is OK for me.

            Thank you for your indulgence,

            BassCliff

I would think it would only be worth it if you absolutely have to have a little more power. Otherwise, if you are happy with the power you getting already, then keep it stock. Looks better to me anyway.
