1981 GS 1000 GL Air Cleaner vacuum hose.

Let's try to be more concise:

Where does the vacuum hose go that runs off of the "driver side" side of the air cleaner?

I believe that's the reason my bike won't stay running.

    Thanks,

    Michael

Are you referring to the hose coming out of the bottom of the air cleaner? If so that is a fuel drain hose. The one on the top of the box is a breather. The only vacuum hose for the CV carbs comes out of carb # 2 and connects to the petcock.

Oh, great. I was worried. Maybe I don't have the fuel lines connected correctly. Can you audit and see if I'm right?

The two big hoses/lines coming from the rear of the carbs are connected together by a fuel filter.

The two smaller lines (one's a bit bigger than the other) coming from the front of the carbs (one has nothing, the other has a "filter" looking thing attached) are connected to the fuel tank.

      Does that sound right?

      Thanks..

        Sorry, not even close.

The two on the back of the carbs (airbox side) are vents. They should have hoses that are left open, and draped over the airbox into the battery box area.
Can't possibly imagine why they would be connected with a filter.

There is a fuel supply hose that goes to the center of the carbs, it connects to the larger nipple on the petcock.

The fourth hose comes from #2 carb (engine side), it goes to the smaller nipple on the petcock.

Take a look at the Where do these hoses go? page on BassCliff's site for pictures.
