    Will this work?

I recieved a set of 650 carbs for a rebuild. Usually I have problems with the idle mixture screws but on this set every pilot jet was glued in. I had to drill out all of them except the #4 and that one was split in half at the head already so lots to grab onto.
I got all of them out ok except the #2. I broke a never out in there. AAARRRGGGHHHH!
Tried to drill it out and ya'll know how that worked out.
I ended up cutting off the port, cutting off a good one of a junk carb and JB-Welded it on. I dremmeld and filed it straight to fit. Put a drill bit in the hole in the carb so it would be centered and no epoxy would get in the carb.
I'm going to let it set up for a week and see how it goes.
    Watcha think?

As long as the JB holds up to the gas it should be fine.

NOW I understand how gas gets to the pilot jets. Thanks for giving me a cutaway view.

Chuck it in the trash. It's one thing to do a repair like that on your own bike but not on someone elses.

sell your guy a used carb body.
well you know my thoughts on JB no weld and being submersed in gas.

I agree with Ed, toss it in the trash. Not worth your reputation by sending out a half assed repair that might not hold up.

I'll let it be his decision.

Half assed?? That's some serious back yard engineering.
Everything is lined up but the real question is will the JB hold up.
I posted in the parts wanted for another one.

Agreed with that statement. All it has to do is fail and you now are a bad guy.

I JB welded a float pin once & the JB weld went sort of soft in the gas... I don't think it'll hold up. You might be able to get it welded, that would work...

Good effort Bill but it wasn't YOUR fault it happened this way. Let the owner know he needs to find, or pay for, another carb. Good red neck engineering right there, I don't care who you are! (In my best Larry The Cable Guy impression!) Ray.

Not as good as your cut 1150 head gasket. You have a new best friend now.

Did I mention that every pilot jet had NO notch left. They were all buggered.

I will not be using that carb body. I found another one.
                            Thanks for the honesty.
