    Float adjust/Fuel leak

I have a pretty good amount of gas leaking from the purge tubes from my carbs, and even a little out of the airbox when the tank was still full on the 77gs750 i just picked up. When resetting the float height should i be measuring from the recess where the bowl sits or from the bottom edge of the carb to the top of the float? I wasn't quite sure from looking at the service manual

Is there anything else that could be causing this besides an improper float adjustment? The bottoms of my carbs are dry, and i don't think my carbs have a gasket where the bowl sits on the carb if that matters.

I don't know what its called otherwise, the tube that dumps the extra fuel onto the ground when the bowl starts to overflow

Measure from the gasket surface, sans gasket, to the bottom of the float.
