Bike randomly cuts out(stalls)

Well, bike has been running good lately, idles good.

But it likes to stall out at stoplights lately!

I can almost predict it sometimes, although is random.

But when im downshifting and slowing down, and right as Im slow enough in 1st gear, I squeeze the clutch In to put my feet down.....and right as I stop or a few seconds later.....cuts out!

Maybe im stopping too fast?

I usually CANNOT hear it trying to stall, it just cuts out extremely fast.
It does't choke out at all....just cuts out lightning fast.

Now I have a few suspects.....but i just wanted some opinions or facts.

1.) spark plugs- can bad or dirty plugs cause a bike to IMMEDIATELY cut out like that?Maybe the gap is too tight?

2.) Carbs- can dirt or rust in the tank do this....or will the bike "stumble and choke" first?

3.) What about electrical?- I've cleaned the entire wiring harness, lights are brighter than ever, although I HAVE been having some weak starting issues lately....i think I need a new battery according to my voltage......I've also been suspecting my starter or starter relay are bad?Could they cause a stall?

As the bike warms up, it will richen up. If you're set too rich when cold, when the bike gets hot it could cause it to drown, or the idle to slow to the point of stalling out. You should also set your idle speed when the bike is warm, not cold. This could also be your problem.

Just reread your post...if you're having battery issues, the definately this could be your problem. Once you get the bike running, and while its above idle, the stator is powering most of the bike, like an alternator does a car. But at idle, or with the brake light on, the motor isnt spinning fast enough to power everything and needs help from the battery. If its not getting it, it will die. Check your charging system before you put another battery in there. If you're over charging, you'll boil the new battery off eventually, and end up in the same spot. If you're under charging, the battery isnt going to get the charge it needs to refresh it for the next duty cycle. Sounds to me like this may very very well be your problem, but Id also check into the other stuff I listed AFTER you're sure you're charging, as not having good charge will make your spark weak too.. etc etc. It all goes hand in hand

Okay thanks, im thinking it's the battery now....
I've been suspecting this for a long time.
(the idiot that traded me this bike, was the one who installed the battery, so i've had my suspicions from the beginning)

I recently took the battery to the suzuki shop, and he said the voltage was okay, but somebody overfilled the water, which is why it was bubbling, but told me it will drain itself out and to ignore it.

I have been checking it with the voltmeter like crazy lately.

It seems to stay under 12v after a full charge.(which is bad i believe)
Sometimes it jumps to 14v, then down to 3v, and ALL over the place!
But usually settles around 9-11.9 volts
(i have an expensive multi-meter too, so im pretty sure it's not that!)

Even if the voltage is right the amps could still be low. Check your charging system once and see if you find any problems there too.
