float bowls off with carbs on bike?

need to play with float height and I really don't wanna rip the carbs off the bike for the umpteenth time in so many weeks... is it more trouble than it's worth to try and do this with the carbs still on the bike? (I seem to recall reading somewhere on this forum something about "it's the laziest man who often works the hardest." does this fall into that category?)

I do it all the time. Allen head screws help, but the right screwdriver will do it even with phillipsheads.

You can, but setting yor float height is going to be fun since most carbs need to be upside down to get them to set right. One ofthe other guys here could help you with setting height when they're right side up.
