One of these weekends, you, and maybe Brett if he wants to ride out, should come out for dinner, and drinks.. No dancing. I dont dance. Unless there are A LOT of drinks... and show me the workings of this fancy gadget of yours.. Would save me a lot of time... 3 bikes in the garage, constantly tinkering on another one of someones, makes for a lot of plugchops..Originally posted by koolaid_kid View Post

I just bought plugs two days ago. I only took two test runs, while trying to determine the correct needle shim setting. There are no more than probably 3-5 miles on them, if that.
I really doubt I need to buy new ones, and at $2.89 a piece, I'd rather not spend the 12$.

The aux box is nice, although a bit pricey. The LM-1 is a good, solid piece, with time-proven quality.Originally posted by Turtleface View PostI was looking at Innovate's LM-1. Seriously considering it, along with their AuxBox. I've always wanted a nice data logging set-up, but never could afford it when I was into cars. What sorta gear are you using?
I mainly tune and analyze cars, specifically f-bodies (Camaros and Firebirds). For OBDII cars and trucks, I use Autotap. Very good basic package, allows me to analyze, read and reset fault codes for pretty much any OBDII vehicle. For OBDI f-bodies, I use DataMaster and VEMaster. OBDI was very loosely defined, so I can't work on other makes. You can purchase really expensive gear that will work with everything, but I never saw the need.

Where are you buying them? Thats a buck more than I pay at Autozone or Advanced.Originally posted by Demonthrall View PostI just bought plugs two days ago. Sand-blasting/media-blasting is really the only way to clean plugs. Snap-on has a nice little unit that works perfectly, but I suppose it is pricey
.
Sandpaper, brushes and gumout don't remove the glaze, and I think the spark can track along the glaze.
A good running motor has been known to clean plugs up
.
Be careful with the sandblasting: if you get media in your eyes and need to get medical attention, you'll probably be exceeding the cost of new plugs.

Cleaning the plugs just usually doesn't work on my bike.......
I just end up buying new ones.
Im like already on my 3rd friggin set in barely 1 year.
I've been spending most of that time catching up on over-due maintenance, and trying to get her to run right......so I've burnt a plug or two a long the way.

Cleaning plugs works pretty good on my newer truck though.
I cleaned a pair on my bike and got them SPOTLESS.
They just wouldn't fire up.
Went out and bought a new pair......fired right UP!
