need help with exhast

i have a veince an heines 4 into 1 and a kerker pipe where the 4 into 1 meets the pipe under the motor i cant get it tight is there soposto be a gasket in there and if so what can i use

I have used aluminum foil tape.

Napa or Advance or anybody like that should carry something that would work.
I bought some expensive tape from Summit years ago. It worked as a gasket/sleeve, i do not know if it would work as a spacer.
