got on the bike to leave for work today, and my choke lever felt very loose, and didn't seem to be working. Got the bike started ok, and rode to work, and it should be warm enough tonight that I won't need it. Anybody have this happen before? When I had my carbs cleaned (read about that here http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum...d.php?t=149494) we didn't do anything with the choke.

to those who know me, it will be no surprise that I have a screw loose, but now my bike does too
And of course, the microfiche on both Bike Bandit and my local Suzuki dealer doesn't list a part number for it. Anyone happen to know the specs on this screw?

David, no problem, glad to help out. Calipers are a "must have". Nice choice on the allen head, i'm converting many things to allen head. You should check out your local True Value, if you have one. They sell single nuts, bolts, washers, etc. and almost always have what I need.Comment

On the 850 I used to have, I replaced the R/R and stator, and replaced the stator cover phillips head screws with allen head cap screws. On this bike, when I replaced the sprockets and chain, I did the same thing on the sprocket cover, as well as the oil filter cover. I do love this little bike, but I think at some point I'd like to get my hands on a 650G. Not sure how much weight I'd save over an 850, but I miss having shaft drive. I can't remember now when I changed out the chain and sprockets, but it had to have been a couple years ago. In the past 2 years, I put on about 6000 miles on the 450, mostly commuting to and from work, plus a bit over 1000 miles this year so far, but I'm already to the point where it looks like I'll have to replace the chain again.Comment
