Star Tron fuel additive

Just put some Startron in all 3 bikes. I did a google search and found this interesting thread on a boating forum. The guy from the company sent some samples out to the members that didn't think it would work. Looks like real good results.

i've heard only good things about Startron to this point. Ethanol will cause prob lems if you let your bike sit for very long without riding it.

I always burn the cheapest crap I can find, and I've never noticed the slightest difference.

1) Ride more - any kind of gas, ethanol or no, will cause problems after long periods of storage. If you're not going to ride a bike for a couple of weeks, dump in some Sta-Bil or whatever preservative you prefer. Do this before the bike enters hibernation. Race and aviation fuels are formulated with additives that help them survive long periods of storage, but they're extremely expensive.

2) Fix your bike -- these are low compression air-cooled engines, not the freakin' space shuttle. If you think you feel a performance difference because of the gas, something else is wrong. Do some plug chops and get your jetting right, rewire your coils, or do whatever it takes and fix the problem.

3) Worry less. See #1.

Just ride.

not to be a ding dong, but I have found ANY fuel will degrade and become worthless after a long time. Gas, ethanol or diesel. If the bike is going to sit for a very long time drain all the fuel prior to storage.

read the tread, interesting. However I believe the members are attributing more to the Startron than it really does. Most of it is probably psychosomatic. I use Sea-foam regularly but, I don't believe it can "fix" anything. I use it more as a lubricator, but I realty it probably is a waste of money. So, I don't believe that the Startron makes engines run better, faster more powerful, etc.

Had to take 3 pieces of equipment out of storage this year. Sta-biled them about a year an a half ago. Guess what? Fuel was junk. had to flush the tanks and carbs. Sta-buil didnt work for me

IIRC, Sta-Bil treats fuel for storage upto 12 months....a year and a half is pushing it. Used as intended, both Sta-Bil and Sea Foam work (though I haven't heard of Sea Foam being used as a lubricant as you described) in my experience. I don't consider either a waste of money. FWIW, I also don't run 10% ethanol fuel in my bike, but to each his own.

Sea foam is 100% petrol. To be honest it is very close to diesel fuel. Has the cleaning properties of ATF. I personally like it however I know it is not an end all be all.

Stabil "red" formula does not combat the $hitty E10 fuel. The Stabil "black" (marine formula) is formulated to treat E10 fuel.

Seafoam works well, it is made up of Pale oil(mineral oil), V. M. & P. Naptha, and Isopropyl alcohol.
