    82 gs650g carb fuel leak

I developed a leak a few weeks ago and cannot find the source. I ordered rebuild kits and then rebuilt the carbs and the leak persists. Because the rebuild kits did not contain the small o-rings for the fuel inlet "T" and the junctions between carbs, I went to the hardware store and found near sized SAE o-rings from the plumbing dept. I believe the leak is from this junction between the 1 and 2 carb. Are there any sources of proper metric gas compatible o-rings? I did find a universal kit with many o-rings of different sizes at NAPA, but didn't want to buy 6 or 8 kits to get the 10 o-rings I need. Any help will be appreciated, thank you.

      Another cause of leaky carbs?

A friend today mentioned that a leak (especially one that is hard to find) could be caused by a float with a hole in it. The gas flows into the carb(s) and once the float fills up and sinks the needle valve no longer stops the fuel and as they say "it has to go somewhere". Any ideas? Oh, yes, and thanks for the o-ring site, I've got them on the way!

Could be that. Did you adjust the float height correctly, that could cause the problem as well as bad needle valve and or seat. terrylee

I haven't seen too many of these floats go bad. Mostly the brass? ones.
