Those hybrids are normally a problem in parking lots and not on the road. You really can't hear any car on the road so it doesn't make a safety difference there. But when you are walking through a parking lot and you let a hybrid pull out on top of you because you didn't know he was running it will hurt very badly.Cowboy Up or Quit. - Run Free Lou and Rest in Peace

I guess that from now on in order to be the "stealthiest" secret agent James Bond will have to buy a USED hybrid in order to sneak in and out of places, hehe!

Artificial sound might well be an option for electric supercars like the Tesla Roadster too, that serve up Ferrari-class performance, in virtual silence. Speaking of Ferrari, they could probably make their cars p*ssy-quiet without sacrificing much performance, but the value of auditory excitement shouldn't be underestimated.

I removed my muffler, bought a Sampson 4" long baffle and had a muffler shop cut a piece of exhaust pipe approx 6" long. Had then expand one end so it would slip over header collector. Then installed baffle. Idles nicely still has bottom end and revs like a mutha. Very loud while running hard, but a deeper bass sound as opposed to a high pitch.Comment
