    raise jet needle made easy

this could be a brain fart, but when i pulled my carbs (82 GS1100G) apart to shim the needles today i couldn't help but wonder why we can't take the 2 mm nylon spacer that is on top of the clip on the needle and just switch its position with the thin washer that is under the clip? over time i suppose the spring might wear into the nylon but this way you don't have to cut down the nylon piece that holds the needle down. just a thought.. i did it and it did the trick.

This is the original way it was done but you can get more accurate with different amount of washers to rid yourself of a stumble.

As Chef said, it works, but on some bikes it will be too much. In that case, just add another washer or two above the clip to lower the needle.

Yeah, this is how I have raised the needles on some of my bikes
