Restoring a 78 and cleaning the carbs. I sprayed carb cleaner into the inner carb area and the carb cleaner isn't draining. You can see the fluid sitting in the carb - shouldn't it be draining?

Why would ya do that? Some fluid will settle especially of they're dirty and clogged.
Take em apart and dip em. -
You're wasting time and effort. Tear the carbs down all the way and soak all the parts in carb dip. When done reassemble with fresh O-rings from O-rings.com, and change the intake boot O-rings. Vacuum sync after it's all together and running.Ed

You can see that it is draining on one side, the side going to the vent. The hole on the other side is plugged, as it should be. And yes, those look very nasty. Is that needle on the far right at a much lower level than the others?Last edited by Guest; 01-06-2011, 09:51 PM.Comment
