i need an exhaust for my 80 gs450l and in an effort to save some weight and change the tone a bit are they interchangeable?

Exhaust ports are different between the 450 and 500's, so exhaust interchange is not possible without a lot of cutting, welding, etc.Current:
Z1300A5 Locomotive (swapped my Intruder for it), GS450 Cafe Project (might never finish it....), XT500 Commuter (I know - it's a Yamaha :eek:)
Past:
VL1500 Intruder (swapped for Z1300), ZX9R Streetfighter (lets face it - too fast....), 1984 GSX750EF, 1984 GSX1100EF (AKA GS1150)
And a bunch of other crap Yamahas.... -

the mac is not what i had in mind? thats why i was asking bout the gs500 exhaust fitment? i want to put a can on it. i guess i'll have to do some welding.Comment

Yeah maybe... I'm only aware of full systems like the Mac, Kerker, Motad, etc.
I'm planning on a custom for mine so won't be much help when I get there I'm afraid...Comment
