Torqued Vac Adjust Nut Too Hard?

How hard do you need to seat the locknut on the vacuum adjust screw when you sync your carbs? I think I torqued too much and messed up the threads so the screw and nut won't move independently. I have my carbs synced perfectly but the screw on carb 1 is not locked so I guess that won't last long. I guess I will also be posting in the parts wanted section. I backed the screw and nut all the way out but wasn't able to get them to move freely.

I find working on my motorcycle mildly therapeutic when I'm not cursing.

What are they... a 6-8 mm set up? Something like that. I usually just snug up all the "little fasteners" as anything more than that, is asking for trouble.

I know this isn't helping any, but I imagine there is a torque spec for them in the manual.
