    What Kit if Any?

Posted in my rebuild thread as well.

Wanted to look the carbs over one more time.

Bike had 4-1, kn pods, and supposedly had a jet kit.

Looking at the main air jet, it is a stock 180.

    Not a dynajet.

Opening up the carb, it looked like the slide had been drilled.

The needle appears to be aftermarket. It has 5 knotches for adjustment. No identifying marks however.

The pilot jet only has one hole at the tip not multiple on the sides. It is marked with 5 then what looks like an h, then the mikuni mark.

Both the main jet and the needle jet are not marked. To find size where would I measure?

Not sure what I have going on here...

    Thanks,

    Nic

Looks like a Canadian stock needle to me... Only difference is that it has the notches. The DJ ones are much more pointed.

You need to measure the bore of the main jet where the small hole comes out at the end, quite difficult to do..

I would probably save myself the headache & get a DJ or Factory pro kit... I assume it wasn't running well (otherwise why do you have it apart?)

A 1/16 Drill bit fit almost perfectly into the main jet. Making the jet diameter ~ 1.6 mm.

      That's a big jet!

Don't know why the PO installed them

Probably to get some kind of performance at mid throttle due to not enough taper on the needles...
A 750 I bought was setup like that, ran like a dog at full throttle even though it did kind of achieve something for lesser throttle positions...
