    Definately VM carbs

How about some pics of the bike?

BTW, in Photobucket - click on the photo and a box with 4 choices pops up

Go down to the IMG code (bottom one) and click on the code. It should blink "copied"

Now, go to the forum and left click and paste the photo into your reply

      Hi,

Pasting the [img] code into your post will work but you won't see the picture until you click either Submit or Preview. (Or maybe it's just my browser.)

I like to see my pictures as I'm writing my post so I click on the icon and paste the URL. But that's just me. It works either way.

      Thank you for your indulgence,

      BassCliff

          Looks like a 79 550 L to me

Yes, the VM carbs have adjustable needles. You have to disassemble the top of all 4 carbs to get them out. Move the clip one notch down on each needle, reassemble and see if that flat spot doesn't disappear

You can also open up the pilot fuel screw another 1/4 turn and see if that helps too. If that doesn't help, try moving up one size on the pilot jet.
