Yes John, I have have bought many o'ring sets from Bob. No offense to cycle o rings, but it seems that those o'rings for the drain plug do not hold up and are being torn up. So, I am looking for the same type of rubber type washer that is the same for the petcock that are used with the bolt to fasten it. I don't want to order from suzuki. I figured I could find something locally. Bob

The CVs do not use an o-ring but a paper gasket. It will just eat up the o-rings. Make a gasket from gasket paper.

Why not just use a copper washer on the drain plug?

                I was wondering about that.
On my 1100G anyway, THe threaded hole (drain) in the float bowl has two slots cut in it (I quess so can drain gas by just loosening the screw) and those slots present a sharp edge that could damage an oring, but a fibre gasket might be less suspectable to such damage.

The bowl itself uses a gasket..the drain screw uses an o-ring..when installing the o-ring always grease it first to help prevent damage and to give a slick surface to seal against the body...I always spray both sides of the bowl gasket with permatex gasket spray (its red)..only a light coat to help seal the gasket..it will tell you to spray the gasket and the opposing piece but then it sticks like hell..just lightly spray the gasket both sides..hope this helped some.
