 Hi,

Perhaps you should.Originally posted by snicrep5 View Postwha..what?! whats all this talk about different size main jets on outer and inner carbs? Am i missing something. Admittedly I didnt read all the posts leading up to this one.

For this particular bike, the '83 GS550 with the "Siamese" carbs (BSw30SS), the inner cylinder jetting is different from the outer cylinder jetting. I think this was also the case for the '84-'86 GS1150. The inner cylinders run hotter so they get a little more fuel in the mix to keep them from overheating. It's all documented, if you want to read manuals and such. There's a handy-dandy carb spec sheet on my little website.

 Thank you for your indulgence,

 BassCliff

The 1983 550L only has two duplex carbs instead of four. Each of these serves two cylinders and has two main jets that are different sizes because of the way air flows through them.
