Carb interchange
Does anyone know if '81 1100 GK carbs can be used to replace E carbs. Yes I know some of the jets might be different but they both are BS34SS carbs and I will meed to rejet anyway.1982 GS750EZ

The main air jets are different. They are the one jet you can't replace. It is at around five o-clock on the filter side of the carb. -

Can the jet be redrilled to size? I've had to do this auto carbs before.1982 GS750EZ

Thanks for the idea. I have a chance to pick up a set of carbs for an 1100 GK fairly cheap and will have to rerack and rejet them anyway. I just wanted to know what the differences are.1982 GS750EZ

For what it's worth, my 1100G has E carbs on it. E carbs have one of the idle bypass holes that is larger and the emulsion tubes, (neelde jets, not the needles), are smaller.
Bypass holes for a G are all .08mm and the emulsion tubes are X-3.
For an E, three of the bypass holes are .08mm and one is .09 and the emulsion tubes are X-1. Other than that, everything is the same, and you are correct, you will have to put the correct jetting for your bike.Comment
