Throttle attachment at carb ('82 GS1100GK)

I removed the carbs today in preparation for having them rebuilt. Noticed that the P.O. had evidently never bothered to snug down the throttle cable nuts.

See picture ~ this isn't correct, is it? Shouldn't this be snugged down?

You are correct, that should be tightened. Adjust both set nuts so you have a little cable slack (free play) when the carbs are setting on the throttle slop. Turn the handlebars to full lock and make sure the free play doesn't all go away.

Thanks! I've noticed that motorcycle repair is a lot more fun if you have another bike that is running properly
