    can someone tell me what the magnets are under the pickups for the ignition under the right hand cover? One is cracked as has parts of the magnet missing?

      Hmmm I believe that is part of the triggering for the pickup coils, and that perhaps could be contributing or causing your issues...

      I could be wrong, but I think that's it...

        This thing is just smashed up, could i replace it with any type of magnet as long as its a snug fit?..

                I'm going to get a pic of the magnet, its about 1/4 of the size of what it should be and the bike wont fire now that i have taken all the shrapnel out of it, however if i put my magnetic pick up tool on one of the points the bike will fire up, so is it a special type of magnet or can i raid our fridge magnets? lol

                  Man that thing sounds just like my 450 used to (minus the popping)

                  Anyway, that magnet is obviously your problem, and as for replacing it it will need to be a certain strength and it will most likely need to be inserted in the correct direction ie. north vs. south.

                  My suggestion would be to try to locate the correct one first...

                    cant buy one seperately from suzuki, i'll find out what type it is and go from there.
