    The Mikuni screws will break off too, you just can't bottom them out or they will get stuck and break.

        im doing something similar with a pin and some wire. as soon as I get the stupid things out, if I ever do, then Im putting the stock ones back on. Lucky I kept all the old stuff.

            Could a gas cap vent blockage cause this? Is the gas in the tank fresh? Pinched fuel line maybe.
            GS\'s since 1982: 55OMZ, 550ES, 750ET, (2) 1100ET\'s, 1100S, 1150ES. Current ride is an 83 Katana. Wifes bike is an 84 GS 1150ES
