Pilot jets are stuck tight and need cleaning , not the mixture screws , the jets . Screw slots are boogered . Help pleaseTags: None -
Use heat and an ezout. Great care is necessary to make sure you don't bust off the ezout.
Check my signature for the carb rebuild tutorial also.Ed

Agree with the heat, but better than EZ-out would be a left-handed drill.
Try to do it in a drill press or milling machine to keep everything steady.I ride many bikes.
Some are even Suzukis. :DComment

oohsam
I used easy outs to get mine out. I did snap one however, in the jet, so i had to drill it out and use a larger easyout.
Easy out is like a left handed drill bit thats tapered like a cone....
Soak well in WD40 or equiv before hand to loosen it all up.

Squirt of proper penetrating oil (not WD40 - proper stuff) and let it sit for 5 minutes. Get a sharp screwdriver the right size, line it up as best you can with whatever of the slot is left and give it a crack with a tack hammer. Hopefully it'll undo.79 GS1000S

I agree with this approach with one modification: use heat on the carb body too.Ed
