Try screwing in the idle speed adjustment just a tad... Maybe it needs just a little more to idle than it did with all of the leaks.
If no good, check the numbers on the jets, then check the float levels...

When it won't start, what does it do?

I'm thinking too rich for some reason but maybe that's not it...
Especially if it won't start when it's cold.

float levels r correct...made sure earlier. it just cranks like it has no fuel...sometimes it does it even with the foam covered...but not often..

air screw on back of carbs maybe?

Try 2 1/2 or 3 just for kicks...
I think 2 1/2 is the generally accepted starting point.

But that does not make sense, if you sealed leaks it should be pulling in more fuel than it was.

Little tiny stampings on the carbs, also should have a box in box stamping
